Who I Am
Your Partner in Navigating the Wild Ride of Small Business Leadership (and Life)
Running a small business is hard. Leadership is challenging. I’m sure I don’t have to tell you that. It’s probably why you’re here.
I get it. I've been there; I got the "I survived another quarter" t-shirt. For 20 years, I've led and scaled digital marketing agencies, which basically means I've seen it all – the highs, the lows, and the "wait, how did we get here?" moments. Just when you think you've got it handled, the rules change. It's like trying to predict the weather in Colorado – you’re wearing flip-flops one minute and a parka the next. (Well, I can usually be found wearing flip flops despite the weather, but that’s another story.)
I've learned from spectacular failures and minor missteps (because who needs boring successes?). I've felt the grit, the grind, and the anxiety of realizing payroll is due again. But I wouldn't trade it. Because amidst the chaos, there's also the thrill of building something amazing. And because I had smart, creative, and incredibly patient and supportive people around me. (Seriously, to those people, thank you. You deserve a gold star… and probably a stiff drink.)
I've also learned the power of peer support. My Vistage group was a lifeline. It was a place where I could be vulnerable (aka admit I just needed a good cry), share my struggles, and realize I wasn't alone in the "business leader on the verge of a breakdown" club.
My Approach
Look, coaching isn't about theory; it's about results. My focus is on practical strategies, actionable steps, and real-world solutions that help you avoid the potholes (cliffs?) and that you can implement immediately to see tangible improvements in your leadership and your business.
What You Can Expect (Besides Sarcasm)
I love small businesses and the slightly crazy people who run them. I'm passionate about helping others and giving back to the community. And when I'm not doing that, you can probably find me in the Colorado mountains. Skiing, hiking, or just sitting near a bunch of wildflowers contemplating what it all means (or at least what concert we’re seeing next). Nature recharges my soul and reminds me what's important – connection, purpose, and the occasional deep breath.
I'm especially passionate about supporting women and minority-owned businesses and leaders in the LGBTQIA+ community. I believe that diverse perspectives and experiences are not only valuable but essential to building a thriving business ecosystem, and I'm committed fostering inclusivity and equity.
